650 Pallets: Warehouse Transition Case Study

When a client needed to clear a warehouse, they had three things to deal with: 650 pallets of stock, a full Link51 racking system, and two glazed modular office and welfare pods. Rather than arranging separate buyers or paying for removal, we bought the whole lot outright.

That is the difference between a clearance service and a direct buyer. We did not charge to take the contents away. We made a single offer for the pallets, the pods and the racking together, collected everything ourselves, and sold it on through Enviro Stock.

Quick Facts

  • Stock purchased: 650 pallets of mixed stock
  • Racking purchased: Complete Link51 pallet racking system
  • Structures purchased: 2 glazed modular office and welfare pods, removed by specialist crane
  • Articulated trailers: 25
  • Transport loads for racking: 2 dedicated vehicles
  • Transport loads for modular pods: 2 dedicated vehicles
  • Deal structure: Single outright purchase, one offer for stock, racking and pods
  • Resale route: Sold on through Enviro Stock

The Full Scope

The project covered three distinct types of asset under one purchase agreement. 650 pallets of mixed stock needed loading and transporting, which we moved across 25 articulated trailers. The Link51 pallet racking system had to be dismantled, labelled and removed on two dedicated transport loads. The two modular office and welfare pods needed specialist crane lifts to come out of the building safely, with a further two dedicated loads to move them on.

Three different jobs, three different skill sets, one client, one deal.

Planning for Complexity

Buying stock, racking and structural units in the same transaction means planning each one on its own terms while keeping the whole collection moving. Pallets had to be loaded efficiently to make full use of each trailer. The racking had to come down in a sequence that did not block access to pallets still being collected. The pods went last, timed around a crane booking that only had one window available.

None of that is the client’s problem to manage. Once we agree a price, the logistics are ours.

The Execution

Our team ran the whole operation, from the pallets to the pods. Stock moved across 25 articulated trailers with no gaps between loads. The Link51 racking was dismantled, labelled and packed for transport. Both modular pods were disconnected, craned out of the building, and moved on their own dedicated transport.

The client had one point of contact for the entire job, and one payment for everything, rather than juggling separate buyers for the stock, the racking and the pods.

The Result

This is what buying direct looks like in practice. No broker in the middle marking up each part of the deal, no separate negotiations for the stock, the racking and the pods, and no clearance fee. The client sold everything in a single transaction and we took on the job of moving it.

The pallets, the racking and the pods have since been sold on through Enviro Stock. That is how we work. We buy it, we hold it, we sell it ourselves.
