Sectors We Serve: Administrators and Insolvency Practitioners

When a business enters administration or liquidation, its stock is often one of the few assets that can be turned into money quickly. The stock is sitting in a warehouse, a unit, or a shop, and it loses value every week it stays there. As liquidation stock buyers, we give administrators, liquidators, and insolvency practitioners a direct route to realise that value and return it to creditors.

Enviro Clear buys stock and business assets from insolvent companies, from businesses closing down, and from solvent companies winding down a range or a whole operation. We buy the full lot ourselves, collect it from anywhere in the UK, and pay on terms agreed in writing before anything leaves the site. Where discretion matters, we can work confidentially and under NDA.

Turning Stock Into a Return for Creditors

An administrator has a clear legal job. Under Schedule B1 of the Insolvency Act 1986, they must aim to rescue the company, or get a better result for creditors than a straight winding up would, or realise property to pay secured or preferential creditors. Whichever objective applies, they must act in the interests of creditors as a whole.

A liquidator’s role is similar. According to GOV.UK guidance on what a liquidator does, they sell off the company’s assets and use the money to pay creditors.

Stock sits at the centre of both. It is often the most visible asset a trading business has, but it is also the one that loses value fastest:

  • Seasonal and fashion lines miss their selling window and drop in value.
  • Short-dated products such as food, drink, and toiletries approach their best before dates.
  • Electronics and branded goods are superseded by newer models.
  • Holding costs keep running. Rent, rates, insurance, and security on the premises all continue while the stock waits for a buyer.

A quick, clean sale protects the value of the estate. A slow one, or a sale split across several small buyers, eats into the return before creditors see any of it.

Retention of title claims

Not all of the stock on site may belong to the company. Suppliers sometimes sell on retention of title terms, which means they keep ownership until they are paid, so the office-holder will usually need to check for these claims before the stock is sold.

Those claims do not have to hold up the whole sale. We can buy the stock that is clear to sell now and leave any disputed lines out of the offer. Once the claims are resolved, we can come back and buy the remaining stock at a later date.

Selling Privately or at Auction

Office-holders usually choose between two routes for stock: an auction or a private sale to a buyer.

An auction exposes the stock to open bidding, but the result is only known on the day. The lot has to be catalogued and made available for viewing first, and commission and costs come out of the proceeds. That can suit high-value, easily described assets.

A private sale to a direct buyer gives you a fixed figure before anything happens. You know what the estate will receive, when the premises will be cleared, and when payment will arrive. The sale also stays private, which matters when the business is still trading, when a sale of the business is under way, or when a brand owner is sensitive about where their stock ends up. For mixed stock, short-dated goods, or a site with a hand-back date, that certainty is often worth more than the chance of a higher bid.

Stock and Assets We Buy

We buy across all sectors, with no minimum quantity, from a few pallets to a full warehouse. Stock does not need to be in perfect condition. Condition affects the valuation, but it does not stop us buying.

Why Work With a Single Direct Buyer

One buyer for the whole lot

Selling stock line by line to several buyers takes time, adds admin, and usually leaves the slow-moving lines behind. We make one offer for the full lot, stock and equipment together where that suits the case. You deal with one party, agree one figure, and the premises are cleared in one collection.

We buy it ourselves

A lot of operators in this market do not buy stock themselves. They take the enquiry, add their margin, and pass it along a chain of other traders, which slows everything down and reduces what reaches the estate. We are a direct buyer. When we make an offer, we buy the stock, take it in, and sell it through our sister company, Enviro Stock. We take on the commercial risk, so the figure we agree is the figure you receive. Because we are buying rather than selling on your behalf, there is no commission or selling fee.

Confidential, under NDA if needed

Some sales need to stay quiet. The business may still be trading, a sale of the business may be under negotiation, or staff and customers may not yet know. We can work confidentially and under NDA, and the lot is not marketed publicly before or during the sale.

The brand and its channels are protected

Stock we buy is resold through Enviro Stock rather than fed back into the brand’s primary markets, so it does not undercut the brand owner or any part of the business that is being sold on. Where it matters, we can agree debranding, distribution restrictions, or export-only arrangements before terms are signed.

A clear offer, quickly

We usually come back with a valuation on the same day or within 24 hours. Larger or more complex inventories can take two to three days. The offer is set out in writing, which gives you a clear record of what was agreed and when.

Flexible payment on agreed terms

We offer a number of payment structures, including full upfront payment, 50/50 split payments, and payment on receipt, depending on the size and nature of the lot. Payment is by bank transfer, agreed in writing before collection, and there are no deductions after collection.

Collection to your deadline, anywhere in the UK

We collect nationwide and arrange all the transport ourselves. Once an offer is accepted, we can collect within 48 hours. If there is a lease end or a date to hand the keys back to the landlord, tell us at the start and we will clear the premises to that deadline.

Solvent Wind-Downs and Closing Businesses

Not every sale comes through a formal insolvency. We also buy from directors and accountants managing a members’ voluntary liquidation, from owners retiring or closing a business, and from companies winding down a division or range. The aim is the same: turn stock that would otherwise sit idle into cash, and clear the premises on a date that suits you.

How It Works

Our buying process is straightforward. Here is what to expect from start to payment.

1

Send us the details.

Share an inventory, stock list, or photos, along with where the stock is held and any deadline for clearing the site. If you need an NDA in place first, tell us and we will sign one before you share anything.

2

We send a valuation.

Usually the same day or within 24 hours, and within two to three days for large or complex lots.

3

Agree the offer in writing.

There is no obligation. What we agree is what the estate receives.

4

We collect.

Within 48 hours of acceptance if needed, or to your premises deadline, from anywhere in the UK.

5

Payment is made.

By bank transfer, on the terms agreed before collection.

Sam, Jo and the team at Enviro Clear were AMAZING throughout the whole process of relocating my business (Sell Retro). I was dreading the rather daunting task of moving my business equipment, storage shelves and items themselves (some of it fragile) across a city, but the team listened to my ideas and then took me through their tailored approach for me, and I didn't have to lift a finger! They cleared my old container and helped me move into a huge warehouse/office hybrid with ease! SO pleased with the outcome - thank you guys! Will 100% be recommending you to others :)

A Straightforward Buyer for Formal Processes

We are a UK stock buyer, and our process is built around speed, a clear written offer, and a single point of contact from enquiry to collection. For administrators and insolvency practitioners, that means less time spent managing multiple buyers and a faster return for creditors.

If you have stock or assets to realise, send us the details and tell us your timeline. We will work to it.

FAQs

No. A stock list helps, but photos, a rough description, and the location are enough for us to start. We can value mixed and unmanifested stock as it stands.

We offer full upfront payment, 50/50 split payments, or payment on receipt, depending on the size and nature of the lot. Payment is by bank transfer, on terms agreed in writing before collection, with no deductions afterwards.

We make one offer for the full lot. That includes slow-moving lines, returns, and mixed stock that has not been sorted, so you are not left with remainders to sell separately.

A stock list or photos, the location of the stock, and any deadline for clearing the premises. Once we move to an agreed sale, we deal directly with the appointed office-holder or the directors, depending on the process.

You receive a written offer setting out the stock, the price, and the payment terms, confirmation once the offer is accepted, a record of what was collected and when, and remittance when payment is made. Electrical and electronic equipment is handled in line with the WEEE Regulations.

Yes. Tell us the hand-back or lease end date when you first get in touch, and we will plan collection to clear the site before it.

Yes. We can buy the stock that is clear to sell and leave disputed lines out of the offer. Once the claims are settled, we can buy the remaining stock at a later date.

No. Stock is resold through Enviro Stock, not back into the brand’s primary channels. Debranding, distribution restrictions, or export-only arrangements can be agreed before terms are signed.

Yes. We can work confidentially and sign an NDA before any details are shared. The stock is not marketed publicly while the sale is agreed, and collection can be arranged discreetly.

Yes. We buy stock and business assets from companies in administration, creditors’ voluntary liquidation, and compulsory liquidation, working directly with the appointed administrator or liquidator.

If the company is insolvent, the appointed administrator or liquidator takes control of its assets, including stock, and sells them to raise money for creditors. If the company is solvent and closing, the directors or the liquidator in a members’ voluntary liquidation sell the stock before the company is closed. In both cases, stock is usually sold at auction or privately to a buyer.
